Revive us Again
Justice and Mercy! Ask any Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist church youth that participated in the slate of activities during the 2013 Youth Week of Prayer (March 16 – 23, 2013) and they will tell you that it was a refreshing and spiritually invigorating experience.
Youth Week of Prayer started in an unorthodox way as the youth left the comfort of the Shining Stars complex in a bid to “Be the Sermon “on Sabbath March 16, 2013. They participated in a Blood donation drive, Shut-in visitation, Police Station Visits, Cool Water Ministry and Prayer Walks as they made the gospel practical to residents of Providenciales.
The remainder of the week was filled with sweet singing, powerful praying and interesting sermons. The sermons presented ‘old truths’ in unique and interesting ways as the speakers presented sermons entitled: Revival That Counts (Jodian Walker); The God Who Sees, Hears And Feels (Ushannia Hardware); The God Who Stoops (Nadisha Barnett); For God So Loved The World (Vedan Fiedtkou); The Greater Commission (Renard Brown); Agents Of Justice And Beauty (Wilkenson Isnord); Energizer Beyond Escapism (Allaneisha Brown) And The Three Angels’ Story (Javon Delancy).
After eight sermons, the verdict was clear, justice and mercy are not concepts that are alienated from each other but are principles that complement each other. After all we are called to God has shown us what is good. And what He requires of us: To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God.
Let us continue to do take the gospel commission literally as we seek to take the gospel into the nooks and crannies of Providenciales.
